It's not easy getting a result at Hillsborough, although the last time we were here we were on the crest of a wave and didn't fear any team in the Championship home and away.

By half time, things were looking pretty good but that 1-0 lead at half time had me worrying. This eason has shown thatwe are not scoring more thatn we concede with regularity and the longer te second half carried on, the more nervous I became.

When 90 minutes was up and 5 minutes added on time was shown that did it for me, I knew we'd lose.

That we came away with a point is no consotion, this was another game we should have won but instead threw the points away.

The irritating obsession with playing slow possession football and tigrying to pass out from tight and pressured situations around our keeper is still a major flaw in Fulham's game.

Time and time again, we attempted this ploy and over and over we sloppily lost possession which on three ovccaissions before the 90 minutes were over, ought to have cost us goals, Bettenelli making a pig's ear of trying to dribble the ball out to Bryan.

Predictably, it was exactly this which allowed the Owls to equalise. Having been neutered by our possession for much of the game, they sensed there was an opportunity to slavage something and came at us in the five minutes the ref added on.

The rest is, sadly, all too familiar. Hideous, a major re-think is required despite the admirable etics in attempting to play total football, the problem is that not all of the defence are good enough for that and our keeper is no sweeper, a decent shot stopper yes but he's no outfield dazzler!

Unbelievable, this season is rapidly turning into a farce and after having been humiliated at home in the first game and turning the corner to ris into contention, all that hard work has been undone in the last few games by hapless tactics, complacent players and an obsession with playing possession football in front of the keeper

So far, so good for Garry Monk at Sheffield Wednesday. The former Swansea, Leeds, Middlesbrough and Birmingham boss - despite being just 40! - got off to the perfect start with a 2-0 win at Huddersfield last Sunday.

This is a big job for Monk, especially after the nature of his departure from Birmingham. He did a good job at St Andrew's but needs to really prove he can take a club and challenge for promotion if he ever wants to kick on as a manager.

Some Wednesday fans, after all, were less than convinced by his appointment.

"I have to say I would have preferred Chris Hughton," Owls fan Natalie Dean toldSky Sports. "Monk hasn't actually achieved anything in the Championship and the stories that surfaced after he left Birmingham are a little concerning.

"Saying that, his first result was excellent and he is saying all the right things. I only wish the owner had appointed him sooner so that we could have started the season under him. He seems to have quite a take no-nonsense attitude which is definitely what some of our players need."

A first game at Hillsborough awaits against Fulham on Saturday. Another victory against one of the promotion favourites would work a treat to help convert any more of the doubters.
